Ultrasound appointment

Everything went well yesterday at the ultrasound. Both babies are measuring the same and right on target. All the anatomy looks good and they are both a few oz's shy from being 4lbs. Baby B is still head down and A is breached, though there is still a lot of time for him to turn. Also, my cervix is still shut and no signs of funneling. So far my bedrest/house arrest has not been so bad. I am just glad my Dr. did not put me on strict bedrest. It does feel weird not working and even though today is Tuesday, I am getting confused to what day it is. I woke up thinking it was Wednesday. Since I am off work now, I am able to get stuff done around the house. Today I will be washing some of the babies clothes and organizing the room. It is all coming along. I just need to order my decal from etsy.com (which I LOVE), and get that on the wall. Here are some pics from u/s and the decal we are wanting to put above the dresser.

Here is the decal. Since our walls are blue, we will change the color of the elephant.

Baby A (Jalen) face... those white lines are hair

Baby B (Landon) face... He is a little squished in there.

31 weeks

I am a few days late with this post, but I have been busy and just exhausted. Jordan's baseball season has started and he will have games every Thursday and Saturday. He looks so cute in his uniform. We are all getting anxious and nervous as the time gets closer and closer. Jeremy and I have realized that we have 7 weeks left before the twins arrive. Hopefully they don't come out soon. We want them to stay put. Dr's goal is to get me to atleast 34 weeks. Yesterday was my appointment for the NST test and they had me all wrapped up with monitors. The nurse had a difficult time trying to get both heartbeats bc both boys were moving around like crazy. We finally got them to stay put and I was hooked up. I had a button to press each time I felt a kick. Supposedly I was having contractions and did not feel them. My Dr. told me last week, that I could be having them, but just not feeling them. He reasured me this is completely normal with twins to have contractions this early. He has put me on bedrest, though it's not strict. He said it more like house arrest. Ummm, to me thats strict. He said if I do leave the house, make sure I am close by and not to walk the mall all day. He told me I can leave to make quick easy errands, but that was it. I have another ultrasound on Monday.

I am feeling pretty well, though it is getting uncomfortable to sleep and I am waking up A LOT to use the restroom. The boys are starting me early with their schedules. :-) Below are some 31 week belly shots. Dr said I am measuring full term.

30 weeks

I am now 30 weeks! It is hard to believe that I am in the single digits! I only have 8 weeks or less, though we are hoping for me to carry as long as I could. My Dr. appointment went well today. He said I look great and doing well. I measure 37 weeks now. He wants me to stop working after next week, so I have 6 more working days! I am going to be so bored. Though I will probably do some work at home to keep me busy. Next Friday I will have my NST (nonstress test) test done/OB appointment and then the following Monday have my ultrasound/OB. The NST test will measure my contractions and check babies heart rates. I am also anxious for my ultrasound and see how much they have grown. Two weeks ago they were 2 oz away from being 3lbs.

Jeremy and I love to play "guess the body part" We would sit there and play with the baby and figure out what we are actually touching. When Jeremy gets home from work at 4am he likes to poke around my belly feeling Landon, since I sleeping on my left side and it's hard to reach over for Jalen. He would wake me up bc I hear his giggles and amusement of being able to feel the baby. Atleast he is gentle with me, unlike my brother who likes to flick my belly. My brother would flick my belly to make them move so he can feel them. Dori- I am trying to break him from this habbit, so he wont go around flicking you when you become pregnant. :-)

Hope everyone has a good weekend. Our weekend is pretty busy. Jordan has his boy scouts graduation, baseball practice, baseball parade, and getting nursery finished. Jeremy wants to get a lot of stuff done in the yard too since we will have nice weather.

Mini babymoon and Dr. appointment update

Jeremy and I went to Cincinnati over the weekend and had a wonderful time. It was nice to get away, even though it was just for one night. We stayed at the hotel chain I work for, so we got a GREAT deal. Friday night, Jeremy wanted to go to the Bass Pro shop. He was in heaven, though I knew I couldn't complain since the next day we are going to IKEA. He did take me out for a nice dinner afterwards. Next morning we got up and headed to IKEA! Our main reason for going was to find a dresser for the nursery that we can also use for the changing table. We did find one and now I just have to wait for Jeremy to set it up so I can organize and put thigns away. We also purchased some storage units and these cute toy plush raddles that we couldn't pass up.

My Dr. appoinment from Friday went well. He mentioned we hit a huge milestone! He mentioned if my water would break now, everything would be okay with the babies. He said everything is looking great! His goal for multiples is to get them to atleast 34 weeks. When he measured my belly he said I was measuring 36 weeks. He told me that he may have me stop working in a week or so as well. Oh yea, I also passed the glucose test! :-)

Week 29 with belly pic

I am now entering my 7th month and I can't believe how fast everything is going. Jeremy almost had a heart attack when he realized that the Dr's first goal is to get me to 35 weeks. He told me that is 6 weeks away and he couldn't believe it. When I pass 35, my Dr's next goal is to go 37. Jeremy said that is his goal too. He said 8 weeks sounds better than 5. We are both excited and anxious, but nervous at the same time. He has been through this before with Jordan, but not 2 at the same time.

The babies muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and their heads are growing bigger to make room for their developing brains. They are very active now and I pretty much know their sleep/wake cycles. Right now they are awake and they are both kicking/jabbing. I have been having some heartburn, but it has not been that bad. At least the strong lower back pain is gone for now and I can actually sit down. Tomorrow we go in for our weekly appointment and after that we are going to Cincinnati, OH. We are going to have a relaxful night at a hotel and then Saturday a day of shopping at my favorite store, IKEA! We are going to buy the dresser for the nursery. We are skipping on the diaper changing table bc we both feel it's a waste of money. We will use the dresser as one. Below is the latest belly shot and our wall letters for the nursery.

A closeup as if you needed one to tell I am bigger. Sorry it's blurry.

Baby Shower

This past weekend I had my baby shower and it was a hit! We received a lot of stuff and I am excited that we received some of the big ticket items. The glider my mom purchased is so comfortable I could just fall asleep sitting in it. My Grandma helped us out big time by purchasing both of our carseats to go with the stoller that was also purchased for us. My Aunt Susie and Aunt Julie got us our baby bathtub filled w/ all sorts of goodies and our babies are all set for bath time!

My best friend Jennifer and Julie did a great job hosting the baby shower. I received so many compliments about the decor that Jennifer did. We have received many questions asking us if we had put away the stuff yet and the answer is no. We were so busy this weekend, we just did not have time. Though I do admit walking in there a few times glimpsing at everything and just imagining the babies all snuggled up in their crib. Nursery letters are now finished and painted and just need to be placed on the walls. Jeremy will probably get that done later on in the week or this weekend. Friday I have my Dr's appointment and we are suppose to monitor contractions. Below are some photos from the shower. Jordan made us a diaper cake and my mom helped him put it together, but he picked everything out.

28 weeks!!!

I am a day early on this bc I dont know when I will actually be able to update since I am going to be busy at work the next 2 days and a busy/exciting weekend. I can't believe I am in my 3rd trimester! Babies are growing fast and you will see how much further down in my post. They are now blinking in the womb and developing billions of neurons in their brains. They are also adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world. Today I had 3 appointments and I will just break down the info from each one.

1. Glucose test- My first appointment was to drink 50 grams of glucose. This was a chilled orange flavor drink that actually did not taste that bad. This test is to check for gestational diabetes. After an hour I had my blood drawn. During that hour I went in for my ultrasound appointment.

2. Ultrasound appointment- Everything looked great! We even got to watch Baby A have the hiccups and the sono tech lady recorded Baby B waving to us. They were both highly active. The time frame we were in is during their waking hours and I am sure the glucola drink made them even more energetic! They have actually been very active all day and I think now they are finally sleeping. Both babies have changed positions. Baby A and B actually switched. Baby A used to be always head down, but is now up and Baby B's head is now down. Cervix is still closed and long. What really shocked me was how much they have grown. Two weeks ago they both weighed 1 lb 14 oz. Now they are 2 lbs 15 oz! They are now almost 3 lbs each. That is a total of 6 lbs of baby in belly!!!

3. OB appointment- Doctor said everything looks great! He was happy to know I have only gained 2 lbs since last time (2 weeks ago). I think all of it went straight to the babies! I am now going to start seeing him every week and we are going to start monitoring contractions. He also said we will be going by a week by week basis on when to stop working. He said it will be 5 or less weeks. Overall he is happy that both babies are developing at the same pace and that I am not funelling. Meaning he has seen many twin patients who show signs of pre-term labor during the 28th week and I show none.

Below are a few u/s pics from today. Baby A was not cooperating that much since he was facing my back. I am looking foward to the baby shower on Saturday!
