Thanksgiving and other stuff :-)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know we all did and we had such a great time. Family from Chicago and Tennessee came and it was so nice to see them all! Landon and Jalen had so much fun and they are so lucky to have such a loving family. This is going to be a quick and simple blog entry because we are getting ready to put up our tree, but wanted to share a few things and pictures.

A week and a half ago, the boys had their 6 month well check-up at the doctors. Both are doing well and growing very healthy. Landon weighed in at 16.5 lbs and Jalen 17.5 lbs. Both were measuring almost 27 inches. Pedi said we can start on finger food, but I am going to wait on that.

Also my brother was in a local newspaper discussing about Thanksgiving this year vs last. If you read it, you can see he gave me a little a shout out. :-) Here it is.

And...here are some more pics!

Brotherly love

I love watching the boys interact with each other now. They are reaching and scooting their bodies to one another. Jalen and Landon also enjoy doing their babble talk to each other. I can't wait until actual words come out that I can understand. However, they do say twins have their own language of their own. Both boys are talking more and more. More constant sounds are coming out. Jeremy swears that Jalen says momma. He does make the "M" sound, but I hear more of Mmmmaaaaa. Landon has also started to sit up by himself. He can not do this for a long period time, but he seems excited he can do this now. Jalen is *this* close doing the same thing. Here are some brotherly love pics and Landon sitting up.

6 months old

I just realized how big Jalen looks sitting next to Landon. I think it's because Landon is sinking in the couch from being in the middle. Jalen is really not that much bigger than Landon. We will find out though in a week at their 6 month well check up.

We have little soldiers in our house

Landon and Jalen are doing the army crawl! Jalen especially is trying SO hard to crawl. He can get one knee up, but he can't figure out to get both knees up and move those arms with him. They both look like little swimmers too. I had to start baby proofing the house. I am getting their play area nice and clean for them. There has been multiple times that both boys would find a way to move and wiggle their body across the floor. Landon especially! Landon likes to do these pelvic thrusts ALL THE TIME! When he is eating, trying to sleep, changing his diaper, changing his clothes, playing on the floor, sitting in his bouncer chair...everywhere! It cracks me up, but it is difficult trying to feed him when he is doing this. It's funny that Landon will do these pelvic thrusts when he is putting himself to sleep. Jalen does this thing where he shakes his head from side to side when he is sleepy. He would also scratch his head and around his eyes. I have to always make sure his nails are trimmed super low or else he would scratch himself.

Tomorrow the boys turn 6 months! How crazy does that sound? I will post their 6 month pics tomorrow. :-) Here are some pictures I took of them yesterday.

Here is Landon talking to his seahorse toy. He likes to do the same thing with his pacifier. Sorry it's dark.

Great Grandma and Grandpa came to visit

Grandma and Grandpa came down from Chicago to come visit. They were awesome and brought down a Gino's East pizza! YUM! The boys enjoyed their time hanging out with their great-grandparents. Jordan, Jalen, and Landon especially liked her Halloween gifts from them. Can't wait to see you guys again for Thanksgiving!

Jalen and Landon are just 5 days away from turning 6 months old! How could this be happening already??? I was holding Jalen yesterday and it actually brought tears to my eyes because he did not look like a little baby anymore. He is now looking like a little boy in my arms. Landon has a new trick. He will now pucker his lips and smack them as if he was giving kisses. It's too darn cute! Landon and Jalen are putting almost everything in their mouths now! They loves grabbing for their toys are just reaching them and taking them away from my hands. They are now enjoying their toys a lot more than they have been. They are going to have so much fun playing with their new toys they get for Christmas. I have already seen what Grandma got for them and they are going to have a ball.

The boys had a successful Halloween! Here is the pic of all three in their costume. I will post more pics soon with their visit with Great Grandma and Grandpa.
