Looking Back

What an amazing year 2009 has been! Jeremy and I welcomed two handsome boys, Jalen and Landon. They have changed my world and I am so happy to be their mommy. It's amazing how much things can change over a year. Lets look back and reflect.

Last December this time I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time and entered into my 2nd trimester. I still at this point did not know I was expecting twins. Here is a belly pic from last December when I was 13 weeks.

January 2009- On January 23, we found out that we were having twins! Twin boys! I will never forget this day when we found out during our first ultrasound. We had so many emotions going through our head.

March- Jordan was able to see the babies on the ultrasound for the first time. He really didn't know what to think, but he was excited at the same time.

Lots of stuff going on!

It is time for a much needed blog update. Recently we are getting over some sickness in our home. Both boys had an ear infection and colds on top of all that. Landon was diagnosed with a mild case of pink eye yesterday. I went to get him from bed yesterday morning and his eye was halfway shut with eye crustys. I called the pedi and she told me to bring him in because he is so young. She said pink eye can lead into an ear infection. When the Dr. saw him she said she saw a little pink, but to be on the safe side to give him eye drops. Looking at Landon, you can't even tell he is sick. He is filled with laughs and smiles.

This past weekend we celebrated Christmas at Jeremy's grandparents house in Vevey, IN. The boys received GIANT teddy bears. They LOVED them. Here they are with their teddys.

Jalen and Landon are REALLY wanting to crawl still. They are still doing the army crawl or pushing up with both arms straight, but not getting the legs where they need to bed. Landon loves to spin on his belly and scoot around the floor. He is SUPER fast too when he does this. He can manage to move across the living room by wiggling his body and kicking off of his legs. I think the reason why Landon weighs less is because he is ALWAYS moving around.

The boys have also been trying new foods. Both are not fans of their green veggies, but like most moms, I make them eat it. :-) Jalen will eat it, but Landon makes "ick" sounds and gags. Both are wanting to be independent when it comes to eating. Jalen would rather feed himself with the spoon and always tries to take it away from me. Now I can just hand Landon the bottle and he takes it from me and can feed himself. This all makes me sad because they don't need my full attention to feed them anymore. I enjoy holding them and I still will! :-)

Jalen and Landon are both loving to make new noises. I wonder if Landon is going to be bilingual because he likes to roll his R's. It makes me laugh each time when he does this. Jalen is constantly making the "mmmm" and "maaaahm" noises. He also loves hearing himself squeal. Especially when it's time for bed.

Now to talk about Jordan! He lost his first tooth tonight! After 10 minutes of tugging and pulling we got it out. His adult tooth was coming in, so we knew his baby tooth needed to come out. Jordan is so excited and feels one of the luckiest kids on earth. He is excited he gets a visit from the Tooth Fairy and Santa in the same week. You can see in the picture the adult tooth coming in.

Here are some more pics to enjoy. :-)

Breakfast with Santa

Today we had breakfast with Santa and the boys had so much fun. They loved meeting Santa! Jalen actually would not let go of Santa's beard. Here is a picture of the boys.

I have been tagged!

I am finally getting around to get back to this post. I started it last week, but I have just been so busy and tired.

When I went to another twin moms blog that I follow, I saw that I received a TAM (True Authentic Mom) tag. I am supposed to post 5 things that make me a true authentic mommy. So I am going to list my 5 things that I think make me a TAM.

1. Each morning when I dress the boys, I think about what I am going to do that day. If we are going out in public, I make sure that they are in one of their "cute" outfits. Yes, it does get annoying when I try to shop and I get asked A LOT of questions about them and comments, but I do like the attention.

2. The past several days I have turned on the Santa Tracker channel from U-Verse and would play the Christmas karaoke songs. I would sing to Landon and Jalen in a very cheerful voice and dance around them in the living room. Their favorite song/dance is Frosty the Snowman. Landon laughs each time I do my version of "thumpity thump thump, look at frosty go" dance. I just love singing and dancing with them. My car has tons of childrens cd's and everytime we are in the car, these cd's are playing.

3. I adore watching Jordan taking care of his younger brothers. He is a GREAT big brother and a HUGE helper. Jordan loves his brothers so much and would do anything for them. I love watching him sing to the babies, read, play, dance, and just talk about his day with them. Brings me so much joy!

4. Poopy diapers do not bother me at all. If you were to ask me to change a dirty diaper before I had kids, I would cringe and be disgusted. I have no problem wiping their little behinds and put on the new diaper now. Blow-outs are even included in this.

5. I enjoy nights and getting the boys ready for bed. There are times, when I am sad because I just want to snuggle with them and play, but it's time for bed. I enjoy giving them their baths and putting their pjs on. I LOVE smelling them after their baths. My favorite scent is the Johnson & Johnson bedtime lotion. I will even sometimes use this for my personal use.

So there are my 5 things. Now it is my turn to tage 5 other moms. :-)

Teething and ear infections

Both boys are teething hard core and they have ear infections on top of that. I think a tooth is going to cut anytime now from either of them. It seems like they have been teething for a while now. Especially Landon with his drooling and having his fingers always in his mouth. I can feel the bumps on their gums. I can say that all Jalen and Landon wants for Christmas is their two front teeth. :-) On top of all the "teething symtoms" they started to pull on their ears. This gave me the sign that this is not all teething and may have an ear infection. Took them to the doctor and sure enough...Jalen has a right ear infection and Landon has a double. Poor guys. I have been snuggling with both of them. There are times during the day when they are themselves, but then there are times they feel and look miserable.

I hope my little guys feel better soon.

Thanksgiving and other stuff :-)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know we all did and we had such a great time. Family from Chicago and Tennessee came and it was so nice to see them all! Landon and Jalen had so much fun and they are so lucky to have such a loving family. This is going to be a quick and simple blog entry because we are getting ready to put up our tree, but wanted to share a few things and pictures.

A week and a half ago, the boys had their 6 month well check-up at the doctors. Both are doing well and growing very healthy. Landon weighed in at 16.5 lbs and Jalen 17.5 lbs. Both were measuring almost 27 inches. Pedi said we can start on finger food, but I am going to wait on that.

Also my brother was in a local newspaper discussing about Thanksgiving this year vs last. If you read it, you can see he gave me a little a shout out. :-) Here it is.

And...here are some more pics!
