Week 19
I can't believe I am a week away from being halfway through the pregnancy. Though I know I have less than 20 weeks since I was told that since I am having twins, I most likely will not go past 37 weeks. There is so much stuff to do. I think we have the cribs picked out and we need to order them. I have been looking at bedding pretty much everyday and I have a couple picked out, but I cant make up my mind. Jeremy is not a big help on that part since I hear "whatever you want hunny" This weekend I am going to make him give me some answers! :-) We are also deciding what to name baby #2. The three that we want to choose from are either Landon, Blake, or Trevor.
Babies are now the size of mangos! Last week they measured a little over 7 oz so they are ahead on schedule and good weight. The twins sensory development is exploding! The brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. They say the babies can hear now from the womb. I am sure they are tired of me yelling at the dogs! LOL! They should know ahead of time when Mommy says stop running around the house and leave each other alone, I mean it! I think our labs are testing me. The hair on the scalp is also sprouting and kidneys are continuing to produce urine.
Mommy is feeling great! I had some severe leg cramps earlier in the week. I had them so bad, I could not walk in the morning when I got up. So far this pregnancy has been really nice to me. I hope it stays that way. I posted another baby bump. This was last week at 18 weeks, the day we found out we are expecting twin boys.

BP has went to plural!
Wow! Where do I begin with all of this? Jeremy and I are still in disbelief and shocked, but yet VERY excited! I guess you can say Jeremy has some Varsity swimmers!I will start by telling you how my day went...
Nurse called me yesterday morning from the OBGYN and asked if I can come in for an ultrasound. She explained to me that my Quad Screening test has came back abnormal and my levels came high. Quad test is a test that they draw your blood to check for abnormalities and down syndrome of the baby. My heart about stopped and I began to get worried. She explained that she highly thought that my dates were wrong from my last menstrual cycle. She also through in that there could also be more than one baby in there. I brushed that off to the side since there are no multiples in our family history. I had to sit all day at work wondering if really my dates were wrong. I was almost positive I gave the right dates and this made me worry. Every parent wants a healthy baby.
So, 3:30pm came and Jermey was able to leave work early and meet me there for my ultrasound. We were both nervous sitting in the waiting area and we both knew we would be okay no matter what the nurse finds. Though we were only thinking different due date or baby may have down syndrome. We finally got in and when the nurse begain the ultrasound, we saw right then TWO babies! My first thought was "I know I don't have mirrors in my belly." Jeremy was almost speechless and just said "wow" in disblief. I then said, "well there are not 3 in there" :-) The nurse said we actually took the news a lot better than most of her patients. Baby A was moving all around while Baby B was being calm and sucking on the fingers. She asked if we wanted to find out the sex. Baby A- BOY, Baby B- Boy! We are having twin boys!!! They are not identical and I have two different placenta sacs which is good and easier for me.
I went in the appt thinking I was 17w2d, though Baby A is measuring 18weeks and Baby B was 17w5d. She moved up my due date from June 30th to June 25th, however twins typically do not make the whole 40wk term. She said most likely I would deliver at 37 weeks which brings me to end of May/early June. Though I will have to have my legs cross tight if it's between May 31st-June6th because mom and sister will be in Cancun.
There is so much more that we need to do to prepare for twins. It will be fun, but I know stressful at the same time. Right now we are back to square one with the names since we only had one picked out. One of the boys will be named Jalen Lee. Lee is a family name on both sides of the family. Last night Jeremy suggested for baby #2 to use my father's middle name which is Ross. All morning today we have been texting names and we have a good list going on. I have posted a poll and want to know your favorite pick. Even though, if one name beats the other, that does not mean we will pick that name. :-)
Below are ultrasound pics. I have a profile show of Baby A and a face shot of Baby B.

BP has turned 17 weeks today!
BP is now the size of an onion. I never thought onions were cute, but this week I do. BP is now about 5 inches and 5 oz. Baby is now forming fat to keep warm and the skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone. The umbilical cord is growing stronger and thicker. Baby's sweat glands are also developing.
I am feeling fantastic! No complaints here. In 2 weeks we will find out if we have an Aubrey Jane or Jalen Lee. Jordan made the comment the other day that there may be 5 babies in me. I think not! We only heard one heartbeat. He says this bc my belly has popped out and I am bigger since the last time he saw me. When I was at my appointment last week, Dr. said my weight is where it needs to be and I am doing well. Average weight gain from conception to 17 weeks is about 5-10lbs. I have gained 7. :-) My sister thinks she is funny with her little remarks, but I keep telling her that this belly is getting bigger and she will have her turn in 10 years. Jeremy is enjoying the whole bigger boobs part, mom loves watching my belly grow, and dad just makes the "you can tell your pregnant comments!" Nothing else is new to update. Jeremy and I are now really looking into nursery furniture and reading reviews on items for future purchasing.

16 weeks
BP is now the size of an avocado! Baby is about 4 1/2 in long and 3 1/2 oz. Legs are now more developed and the eyes have moved closer to the front of BB's head. BP has started to grow toenails and he/she can now hear my voice! The last few days I have really felt the baby move and it is such an amazing feeling. Though, we cant feel any kicks from the outside, but the doctor told me yesteday that we should in about 3-4 weeks. Yesterday was my 16th week appt and everything went well. BP's heartbeat was 144bpm. Dr. had to keep moving the dopler around to follow the heartbeat bc baby was being very active in there. We go back in 3 weeks for our BIG ultrasound and we get to finally find out the sex. February 3rd is the date so mark your calendars! Jeremy and I are excited that we can finally call BP either the girl or boy name we have picked out. Plus we want to start thinking about the nursery. Right now I have been looking at both gender's and it is so overwhelming! So many cute bedding! We have a few picked out and some ideas out there. When we do the nursery we will probably paint Jordan's room too so he can feel special and feel like he gets a "new" room as well.
I hope everyone is staying warm. Jordan's school got cancelled today because of the cold weather. He gets to hang out with me at work, which he loves to do. I have posted a belly pic below as promised.

Week 15
I can't belive I am in my 15th week already. I am just 5 weeks shy of being half way done with the pregnancy. BP's legs are now longer than the arms and can move all the joints and limbs. All of the baby's organs have been formed. A week from today I have my monthly doctor's appointment and we get to hear BP's heartbeat again. The exciting part of the appointment is that we make the appointment for the BIG ultrasound! We can't wait and we want to start calling BP a he or a she. No more "it"! We already have names picked out for both sexes. Jordan gave his opinion while playing his Spiderman game on the Xbox, which were Peter Parker for boy and Mary Jane for girl. He is super excited about having a brother or a sister. It's funny because everyday he is with us, he will give me a huge hug to verify if he can still put his arms around me. Jordan can still accomplish this and each time he tells me "mommy you're not that fat yet, I still have room to wrap around my arms" Jeremy and myself thinks otherwise. We can tell a huge differece and how much I have popped out from a weeks ago. I need to update and get a new belly pic on here.
Since I only have one size 7 jeans that still fit me perfectly with some room, I have bought some maternity jeans. Also my mom came to my rescue because she is awesome like that and bought me some work pants and tops. Clothes are starting to get really uncomfortable and I am glad I have more tops to wear. I have purchased a few, but are for late spring/summer.
I hope everyone had a good new year! We are excited for it to finally be 2009! This is an exciting year. My little sister is graduating from high school and we will have a new addition to our family!
